This is definitely some good stuff. Makes me appreciate what podcasting is all about. Macedonia and I had some great times at Podcamp NYC 2.0. If anything, it confirmed that I need to express myself a bit more and put more In Rotations out there as well. If you're interested in seeing more pics, check out my set, The HalfShow's sets (Day 1 and Day 2), and CC Chapman's set here.
It's the first 15 of the top 30 of 2007. Comments, disses, agreements welcome. Happy New Year!
The last one of the year. Featuring: MJ, The Whispers, Sheila E, Kurtis Blow, Evelyn King, Wham!, The Family, Prince, The Jacksons, MJ, Kashif, Stylistics, Enchantment, Parris, Luther Vandross.
Last week I did an OSW which had a track from Greg Phillinganes. Greg was one of the most well-known keyboardists, having worked with Stevie on the Wonderland tour, and of course Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones and even (drum roll, please) Toto!
I loved this song when it came out and remember it vividly. This song, logically, is a little different from the other tracks on the OSW so I almost didn't use it. What was the impetus for me putting in this well known track by him? Well, the video, of course.
Check it out.
Here are some of the highiligts for me:
1. The musicians in this video are having a great time. From air synths to dance kicks.
2. The woman is playing the ultimate vamp which keeps me from turning away from this video.
3. The hand motions the audience makes. Try doing that hand motion next time you're at a concert or at the club and see what happens.
4. Costumes and makeup. Fits in perfectly with the video, Gives them that eerie rock look.
5. The last 30 seconds of the video. From Greg's moves to the cab ride. Priceless. I should make that signature move the next time in the club.
I don't know. Who do you love?
What's the oldest thing in your fridge?
Dark chocolate bars. They've been there for a while. (Whew! I was afraid I would have had to say gorgonzola cheese!)
What's the weirdest baby name you've ever heard (or considered)?
It used to be "Seven," but since I'm used to hearing that name now, I'd have to say "Orange." Or better yet, "Chocolate." How are you going to name your baby "Chocolate" and pick up a Snickers bar and eat it? I'm jus' sayin.
Which household chores do you most/least enjoy?

Ironically, as much as I hate to admit this, I like to cook, which happens quite rarely. With the kitchen I get to turn the television up and watch as I'm cooking and also have the laptop on to IM, mail, webcam, etc. I think that's pretty cool. Of course I absolutely hate vacuuming, because of the freakin' loudness and the fact that I always forget some area of the doggone floor.
What are your resolutions for 2007?
Resolutions? We don't need no stinking resolutions!
That was somewhat serious. If I post resolutions, then I expect more things from myself. This year, I'm going to keep moving forward. In fact, I need to ease pressure I had in 2006.
I need to push the reset button.
Yep, I need to go ahead and start anew, and prepare to have a more fantastic year than 2006. Believe that.
Oh yeah, and Happy New Year to you over there.
Have you ever secretly unwrapped a gift before the big day?
Submitted by Red Pen.
Well, let me tell you what happened. Back when I was 10 years old, I secretly unwrapped 2 gifts. One was a scientific calculator, the other a spirograph.

And when I unwrapped them, I was in pure delight, because I was a pure geek who didn't know whether I wanted to be an designer or a scientist. My mother decided that I actually wanted to be miserable, so when she found out, in typical southern mama fashion, she took them away. I got oranges instead. She eventually gave them back to me in February. Lesson learned: don't unwrap anything until the big day.
What's one thing that you'd like to get done this weekend? Is there anything holding you back?
I want to be able to go to an afterparty to see Erykah Badu, but this work thing is holding me back, as well as this damn heat. I just need a big block of ice around me at all times. Oh, and more money, since it's the weekend before I get paid.....
